Circulation Services
To search our online catalog, click on the link in the center of the Home page. Click Catalog, then Nesbitt Memorial Library, and then the Catalog tab. You may perform a simple search by author, title, subject and series or choose the Power Search tab on the right for more options.
If you would like to have the ability to renew your books online:
Click Catalog, then Nesbitt Memorial Library, and then the Catalog tab. After landing on the search page, click on the Login on the right upper screen. If it says District Users in front of Login, it will not allow you to login--click on Nesbitt Memorial Library first. Use your library card number as your login and last name as your password.
Once logged in, you now are able to view a list of items you have borrowed, any fines/fees that have accrued, and have the option to renew your materials contingent upon if you do not have fines/fees over $5.00 and if they have not been renewed twice before. Renewal is two weeks from the current date.
If you have any questions about renewing online, contact the library at 979 732-3392 or library@columbustexas.net.
Youth and Teen Services
Nesbitt Memorial Library offers programming for teens ages 12-18 during the summer reading program and throughout the year. Programs range from trivia competitions, gaming, feature films and book-themed activities. For more information about the teen program, contact Jessica Neath.
Reference Assistance
Library staff are trained to assist with reference questions in person, by telephone and email. For more complex questions and local history and genealogy assistance, staff may require 24-48 hours to respond.
Outreach Activities
Nesbitt Memorial Library participates in the Magnolia Festival, Read Across America, Collaborative Summer Reading Program and the Live Oaks and Dead Folks Cemetery Tour. Deposit book collections for children are available at the WIC and Department of Human Services offices, Columbus Community Hospital and the Columbus Health Clinic.
The Library's Collection
The Library maintains popular fiction and non-fiction in print, audio, e-book and e-audio formats for children, teens and adults. DVDs, music CDs, non-fiction about Texas and local history and genealogy materials round out our materials collections. A special doll collection, many having belonged to Miss Lee Nesbitt, is also on display year round.
